The ResilMesh project: Situation Aware enabled Cyber Resilience for Dispersed, Heterogenous Cyber Systems Kick-off meeting in Ireland

[Athlone, Ireland]

A two day kick off meeting for the ResilMesh project took place between the 17th and 18th of October 2023 in Athlone, Ireland.

ResilMesh is a new EU funded project coordinated by the Technological University of the Shannon  (TUS), and will last for 36 months, up until September 2026. The project will focus on developing cyber situational awareness based on Security Orchestration and Analytics Platform Architecture (SOAPA) toolset, to improve digital infrastructure resilience.

Fourteen (14) organisations from across Europe have joined forces to deliver tools and systems that will help organisations achieve higher levels of security and resilience by providing them with methods and tools to better:

  1. manage the complexity of their digital infrastructures and services, and
  2. combat advanced persistent threats (APTs).

The consortium consists of University and Research centers (TUS, JAMK, RHUL, UMU, MUNI, JR, KEMEA) with great expertise in  theoretical and applied security research and social sciences; Industrial Partners (SLP,GMV, MONT, F6S) to ensure the commercial exploitation of the solution; and also end users (ALWA, ALIAS and MURC) to secure that the implemented framework is grounded on real industry needs.

All partners expressed their enthusiasm about this initiative during this first face-to-face meeting, setting the goals and action points for the next two months. The project involves Tools development, Open calls and a number of Pilots that will validate the outcomes of the project. During the first day each partner analyzed and presented their contribution to the project, explaining the framework they will follow. On the second day, the partners had group discussions to address some initial decisions and consequently, they presented to each other,  the outcomes and the work progress direction for the next three months.

The next physical meeting is planned soon, early next year, to secure a smooth kick-off of the working groups and ceaseless project progress.

More updates and news about the project will be shared in the upcoming weeks through the official social media channels and the project’s website upon their release.
